What is shutter speed?

It's the speed at which the shutter of the camera closes.

 Shutter speeds are typically measured in fractions of a second when they are under a second

  • How does it affect exposure? 

The faster the shutter speed, the shorter the time the image sensor is exposed to light; the slower the shutter speed, the longer the time the image sensor is exposed to light.

  • What is the purpose of a slow shutter speed?

a slow shutter speed gives the photographer a longer exposure

  • What is the purpose of a fast shutter speed?

 A fast shutter speed creates a shorter exposure
